"Phylacteries and Tassels: The Challenge to Total Conversion" Phylacteries and Tassels are mentioned in a number of Scriptural references (Deut. 6:8; 11:8; Exodus: 13:9, 16) but in Mathew 13:5 Jesus uses the image to indicate a lack of complete conversion. He asks the Pharisees to forgo externals in favor of the internal conversion of the heart. It was a challenge for them and is an ongoing challenge for believers today. This retreat will look at the implications.
The Day of Prayer will be from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, including Mass and lunch. Come enjoy a quiet day of reflection allowing the stories of Jesus to shape your mind and heart. The Day of Reflection will be led by Sr. Dot Trosclair, Director of the ASC. LETTING THE STORIES OF JESUS SHAPE YOUR MIND AND HEART will focus on meeting Jesus in the Gospels through imaginative contemplation. There will be time for instruction, demonstration and personal time in prayer allowing Jesus to speak personally to your mind and heart asking that you become more like Him.
