The Russian writer, Fyodor Dostoevsky, puts these famous words in the mouth of one of the characters in his novel “The Idiot.” They are words that Dorothy Day, the famed American Catholic social activist, repeated frequently. This weekend retreat will look at beauty manifested in God’s love, His compassion for the poor, the openness to personal conversion and the powerful beauty of prayer.
Rev. Simeon Gallagher is Director of the Preaching Ministry Office of the Mid-America Province of the Capuchin Order. He conducts retreats, parish development programs, and religious education workshops.
